Instructor spotlight is our newest feature on the Advance Beauty College blog. It is our hope that you can get to know (and love) our instructors like we do. This month, we’re featuring Mrs. Linda Kreh. Ms. Linda, as she’s known to her students, is one of our manicuring instructors.
Why did you start in this field?
I was fresh out of high school and was unsure of my direction. My mother offered to put me through the nail course at beauty college with hopes of opening a nail salon together someday.
What are your dreams? Have you reached them yet?
I dream of being the best that I can be and with everything that I do. I will say I’m pretty close, but as we all know, there is always room for improvement. 😉
Where are you from?
I always say that I am from all over. I was born on the East coast, lived there for a few years, then moved overseas and stayed there for several years. I moved back to the United States, Austin, Texas, to be exact. I have now been in California for 14 years.
What is your Advance Beauty College history?
I lucked into working with Advance Beauty College in 2011. I knew one of their cosmetology instructors who informed me that they were in need of a nail instructor so I went in and met with our Vice President Linh Nguyen, and the rest is history.
Tell us about your family.
I am married and have three beautiful daughters. Two are in college and my youngest is in middle school.
What are your hobbies?
I have several hobbies. My biggest one right now is reading. I am in a book club and read a new book every month. My favorite book is Signora da Vinci by Robin Maxwell.
What is your favorite movie?
I have so many but I love Pirates of the Caribbean. All of them!
What is your most memorable nail experience?
I have been in the nail industry for over 22 years now and as you would guess, I have a million, from working on celebrities to doing shows on TV. My most memorable nail experience was when I was recognized as one of the Top 10 Manicurist across the county by Allure Magazine. I have that article framed and it hangs proudly on my wall.
